Description of Apprenticeship:

I love the beauty of mother nature in what she creates. Stones and metal are my passion! Even when I did just beading, I spent the money for the more beautiful stones from semi-precious to precious and worked with sterling silver and copper. I really can't say I have a favorite but I love stones with multiple colors such as Prudent Man Plume Agate, Pietersite and Ribbon Turquoise to name a few. My favorite metal is sterling silver, I also work with copper because some stones just look absolutely beautiful in copper. I have not worked in gold because of the price and because I'm not a gold person (if it was not so expensive).

I am a stay at home mom and work with my husband when he needs me. I volunteer weekly in my daughter's kindergarten class. I'm looking to expand my skills and would love to be an apprentice to someone who needs a person who has the basics down, I never give up on a project, I do know when to put it down and do something different or walk away completely. I am a visual learner and learn very quickly. My latest creation was a ring. I took 1/2 round ring stock with a design, soldered wire to both sides, then seamed the ring. I measured the bezel wire, soldered it together and filed it down to fit the curvature of the ring. Then soldered the bezel wire to the ring and set the 10mm CZ. It was not as easy as I described it. I worked on this ring off and on for over a month. After 5-6 failures on getting the bezel wire to solder to the ring, I finally figured it out. I'm obsessive compulsive about figuring out puzzles.

I have my own home studio complete with torch, flex shaft, etc. I have been doing this now for about 9 months. Having a home studio is wonderful because I'm always there in my spare time. Now that my little girl is in school, I have a lot of. I have to pace myself because I only have so many stones and sterling silver/copper and do not have an endless supply of money.

Thank you for taking the time reading this.
